Cayman Islands Wedding {Keith and Rhea} Amazing Reception!

February 22, 2015

Keith and Rhea are far from doing things like everyone else…. when Kieth met Rhea 3 years ago and he decided to propose to her, the opportunity to pop the question just kept getting messed up. Keith decide to just ask her at home and said to her… “I can’t give you the perfect story, but I can give you the perfect ending… Will you marry me?”

From a bridal party of 16, to a 5 tier cake, to a tented reception dinner with hanging chandeliers and peacock feathers in giant vases and a after party that served coffee, cups of tea and cassava cake this special day was incredible. The day started at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman as Rhea and her girls were getting ready in a gorgeous suite, Rhea had gifted her mum a handkerchief embroidered with a poem and name on it and then the girls were all on the bed drinking champagne. All of this while the boys were donning their tuxes and awesome socks and keeping the groom under lock and key. The wedding ceremony itself was beautiful in a local church and there was a special moment when one of the ring bearers came onto the stage and kissed Rhea. Once the couple walked down the aisle they had petals chucked all over them as they tried to escape and we headed down to George Town for some fun photos with the bridal party at the local library and pier and a quick stop to the domino came with some of the locals. We then headed to Eduardo’s bar where the couple first met for a silly fun photo in the bar there.

The reception itself was incredible…. a air conditioned tent with full on dance floor and spinning lights, the chandeliers and table settings were just stunning. After a dinner the couple just danced all night long. During the speeches we were all in tears as Keith gave an awesome speech to his dad and thanked him for being their for him from the beginning.

Here are some questions we asked the Bride and Groom:

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?

B&G: Complete Fairytale. Magical!

What was your favourite moment from the wedding?

B&G: When Kristopher came on to the alter to give me a kiss.

How was your experience taking photos with me that day?

B & G: OMG, it was so much fun working with you and it felt so easy. I really hate taking pictures but I felt so at ease with you. I also loved that you kept me in line with getting photos during the reception. I was on cloud 100 and would surely have missed out on great pics if it wasn’t for you.

Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!

B&G: I wouldn’t have changed a thing. In fact I am glad we decided to wait and do a creative session afterwards. I didn’t feel rushed or nervous and that made the creative session so much fun and easy.

see creative session here (separate post) http://www.rebeccadavidson.com/blog/wedding-creative-session-keith-rhea-post-wedding/

Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
B&G: Look at tons of pics and share with your photographer what you like and what you want.

We love to hear about vendors you love. List any vendors here and feel free to share your experience. Be sure to include the name of the vendor, their profession, city/state, site or Facebook page and how your experience was!
B&G: Wayne from Food for Thought was amazing to work with.

Dell from Flowers by Dell transformed the church, beautified our reception and made my AMAZING bouquet. She’s a flower genius!

And I don’t think my words would do justice to Picture This! You guys have an amazing team! Thank you so much!!!!!

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
B&G:My pictures. Thanks to Rebecca they are AMAZING!

What was the first song you danced to as husband and wife? Father-daughter dance? Mother-son dance?

B&G: John legend – all of me (first dance)
Carrie Underwood – mamma (mother daughter dance)
