Cayman Villas of the Galleon Wedding | Lisa and Jeff | 3.14.15 or π

May 3, 2015

“To love you is the greatest honor and treat of my life and to be loved by you is a dream come true”

Lisa and Jeff’s wedding at the Villas of the Galleon was held on a special date, 3.14.15 π, everything about this wedding was unique. Jeff and Lisa had personalized vows, beautiful decor with incredible details and speeches to make everyone tear up and yes…. Jeff even played the guitar and sang. You can just tell by the photos what type of personalities these guys have. They laughed more in their ceremony than any other couple I have photographed. Love love love the details in this wedding! You have to scroll down to the bottom, Lisa sent me their vows as they were so much fun. Jeff said the above that I put in quotation marks so so so nice… and Lisa “I promise to let you have ‘your time’ with the Xbox I bought for you.” It doesn’t get better than that!!

How did he pop the question?
On a random Saturday morning while I sat on the couch in my pajamas. I was completely surprised. Then we headed off out of town for an entire weekend trip he’d planned in advance. How long have you been together?
Exactly three years on the day of our wedding.

What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Hearing the vows each other had written for the very first time during the ceremony.

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
Flawless! It was a perfect compilation of friends, family, beautiful surroundings, amazing food and drinks that resulted in a week long party of our dreams!

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a destination wedding?

It takes an incredible amount of planning, but the two most important things are 1) find a local and reputable wedding planner, this is not an area you want to scrimp on!, 2) although it can be difficult, take the time to add your own personal touches and decor to the wedding ceremony and reception to make it your own.

Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?

My mother-in-law hosted an incredible trip to New York City with myself, my sister, and my sister-in-law. Three days packed with bridal boutiques, Broadway shows, culinary indulgences, and good times with family that resulted in me finding the perfect dress. I had almost given up hope until the very last appointment when I tried on a dress that had every detail I had been looking for…I knew it was the one as soon as I put it on!

Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Make sure you write down a list of all the shots you must have and provide it to the photographer in advance. Also, take the time to do a trial of hair and make-up including some practice photos to see how you look at each angle.

We love to hear about vendors you love. List any vendors here and feel free to share your experience. Be sure to include the name of the vendor, their profession, city/state, site or Facebook page and how your experience was!
Wedding planners: Celebrations – created our dream wedding all from Pinterest posts and emails throughout the preceding year without ever meeting us. Highly professional and enjoyable to work with. Also provided all the floral arrangements which were breathtakingly beautiful.
Music: DJ Craig – created the perfect playlist for our reception along with being a really nice person!
Cocktail Hour and Reception: Luca Restaurant – incredible!…fine dining food, craft cocktails, exceptional wines and impeccable service at wedding, who knew it could be done!

Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for? Use this space to talk about favorite shops. You can include where you got your dress, sites you got your veils/décor/accessories, etc.

Etsy, Etsy, Etsy!…I cannot thank all the Etsy vendors who provided decor and services enough! Especially Sofia at LoveEmbellished who crafted vintage paper roses that we incorporated throughout each stage of the wedding and Liz at PompDesigns who was a dream to work with as she created all the signage for the wedding.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?

Avoid having to worry about any of the financial aspects of the wedding starting the week prior to the event. Pay as many vendors in full ahead of time as able and have vendor tips, including necessary cash and thank you cards, done in advance and allow your wedding planner to delivery them.Wish Lanterns were the perfect ending to this incredible event

The Vows…..

JEFF:

Lisa, you came into my life like a whirlwind – sweeping me off my stubborn feet. Over time we grew as friends, as roommates, as food critics, …as lovers! And on March 14, 2012, I shed my wicked ways and set down the path of righteousness. Since then, there is not a day that goes by that I don’t wonder how I could have gotten so lucky.

So for you Lisa…

  • I promise to love you unconditionally over everyone else…even my Rochelle (here I can use inside jokes…).
  • I vow to forever love and laugh with you to all the parts of the world – even places without insulin (because you’ll remind me to bring it).
  • I promise to never stop growing, communicating, and listening to you.
  • I vow to provide a home with a garden for succulents and room for your antique-y things.
  • I promise to continue to make you feel safe. Not because of my large muscles and tall stature, but by loving you unconditionally and by providing a home safe from judgment. To always love you for who you are.
  • I promise to make sure you do not fall asleep with your contacts in and to provide you with turn down service life long.
  • I promise to always be Jeff. The Jeff’s whose nature at times can be challenging, but forever unique and endearing. The Jeff who is always a great time!

Lisa, to love you is the greatest honor and treat of my life and to be loved by you is a dream come true. You’ve unlocked the door to my heart and allowed me to make not only the most mature, but BEST decision of my life. Thank you!

Jeff, I can remember they very first time I saw you. You were sitting at a computer on 6 East at UMass. I had an instant attraction to you, although, we didn’t even speak to each other at the time. It wasn’t until 4 months later we had our first date, the details of which will always remain between us. There was immediate chemistry between us and I think we both knew there was something special between us. Since that time, you have allowed your innate kind and loving nature to shine through to the point I feel adored each and every day. I love and trust you more than anyone I’ve ever known. I feel privileged to have such a connection with another human being that I don’t believe everyone gets the opportunity to have.

LISA:

  • I promise to always take care of you by always cooking you well seasoned food, by waking up in the middle of the night to check your blood glucose and inevitably getting you a glass of orange juice, and by allowing you to use my purse as your pharmaceutical receptacle, for your epipen, glucagon, insulin, lactaid…
  • (Vows Lisa forgot to read during the ceremony…
o I promise to continue to sing off key and mess up the words of my favorite songs.
o I pledge to accept I will forever be running late and I will be tied with sleeping in as the love of your life.)
  • I Lisa…vow to wake on the first, or at most, the second attempt you make to get me to sleep in bed and not on the couch with my contacts still in.
  • I promise to let you have “your time” with the Xbox I bought for you.
  • I vow to continue to cook awesome meals for you and not complain when you want to sneak in Wendy’s or Burger King here and there. Jeff, I truly believe the most important decision a person can make in life is who they will marry and I think I’ve made a great one! I adore you and thank you for making me feel adored. We are going to have such a fun life together!
