persian wedding dress

I saw the dress on Pinterest, found the location that had it and tried it on. I was alone the first time I tried so I asked my friend Samira Mahjoub to join me the second time in order to have her opinion. I tried it on again and asked her not to be so enthusiastic if the dress was good so we could negotiate the price. She didnt need to say a word, I could tell from her look that the dress was amazing and she confirmed by saying Leila you look great in it and she would shout if I didnt ask her to pretend. We couldnt negotiate a good price however, Atta’s aunts (Forouzan and Shokouh Zavieh) kindly offered to make my dress so I sent all the photos to Maison Zavieh Boutique and travelled to Iran for 5 days in order for them to get my measurements and have it tailor to my body. Special thanks to Forouzan Zavieh and Mahnaz joon for their efforts during this short time. They made my beautiful dress in 5 days, that’s a new record I can assure you 🙂

We met in London, UK in June 2014 through our mutual friend Roya Rahnejat.

While on a holiday in Montreal, Canada in June 2014. We had dinner at Schwartz (very famous resto in Montreal) then Atta insisted we go for a walk on rue Saint Laurent before meeting our friends Maryam Soleymani. I could sense Atta is acting different but never thought he was planning on proposing. He kept going into back alleys to find a cozy spot but as he was not familiar with the area he wasnt able until we saw a bench under a closed supermarket. He said he needs to sit and I agreed but all I was thinking in my head was that our friends are waiting for us and we need to leave. He then brought out the ring and I stopped breathing for a few seconds. I asked any possible question to change his mind but it seemed like he had thought of all and everyone knew about his proposal except for me. We both were so nervous but so happy and in love.

We chose South of Spain (Marbella) because the weather was still going to be good at the end of September. Also I live in Canada and Atta is in Iran so Spain being in the middle was a great option for us and our guests.

Super excited and happy. We officially got married a year before on September 11, 2016 so we had a year to get used to each other and our new status which I think was great as I got to enjoy the reception party without being nervous at all.

– Walking down the aisle – My fathers speech – Sitting at the head table looking over the guests and feeling the joy and how much our hard work paid off by seeing family and friends so content – Our first dance – Entrance dance

Fantastic, amazing, my dream coming true

Yes Persian ceremony with Sofreh Aghd set up.

It was easy, chill and great. We hope that the photos will turn out as great as our interaction with you.

Majority of the items I liked and used I got the idea from Pinterest and bought many things such as the lighting in the flowers or my wedding favors the Maracas from Etsy.

Start planning as soon as you book your venue. Many guests will cancel in the last few days before the event so submit for a less number of people to the caterers than you actually have. As couples you need to be on the same page and make sure you stick to your plan and budget otherwise there is no limit to this wedding business.

Fist dance song was Kavir by Shahram Solati (in Persian) Entrance song was Cant stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake (in English)

See the photographer and the videographer in advance at the venue and go over the wedding schedule and places and people you would like her to take a photo prior to the event.

– We loved our decorater Yvonne Lyndon. She was very considerate of our budget and was a lot of help to us in a lot of things.
– We loved our cake by Louise Crumblin. I told her what I wanted without sending her photos. She sent us 3 samples and we chose the one we liked and got a lot of compliments.
– Our florist Shona was super nice throughout the process. ]
– DJ Simon Baker was great especially that we asked him to play Persian songs 90% of the time. He gathered many Persian songs himself and we gave him a lot too. Overall he did a great job and we are very happy with choosing him.
– We loved Rebecca our photographer because she was super chill, sweet and easy to work with.
– Gary and Rebecca were nice and easy to work with as well.
