Laura and Beau – Elegant Westin Wedding

March 11, 2014

When I met Beau and Laura I fell in love with them straight away! I knew this was going to be a good wedding…. “So, Rebecca… we are really laid back, we just want to have a good time!!!” And So happens the wedding of Beau and Laura….! From the minute I got to Laura the smiling never stopped, and driving to a few locations I got to know their story….

“Beau and I met while living in Memphis. We became immediate best friends.  He left 6 months later for a work trip and to my surprise I missed him.  After a few cocktails one night, I called and told him I had a crush and missed him. He told me he had a crush on me since “hello.” And the rest is history! ”

They chose to be married in Cayman for the beauty, they knew they wanted a small intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. They wanted the weekend to be just as much about the family and friends as it was about them.  They were the people that mattered  the most to them. They were able to offer them a vacation as well as somewhere to escape the brutal winter back in America. It’s an easy trip and offers so many rewards. Beau and Laura rented a boat for everyone one day and swam with stingrays and snorkeled. They had a bonfire with s’mores on the beach another night. Their rehearsal dinner and wedding reception were both held at an outdoor venue overlooking the beach and the clear blue ocean. Everything was perfect and they knew the Caymans was the place to pull off their fairy tale wedding weekend and day!

Once they were married and ready to walk down the aisle, all their friends threw beach balls over them to make a stunning picture. At the reception the mic was handed over to Laura who bursted out in song as everyone partied and had a great time to some amazing music, as you see from the reception pictures what a great time they were having! What a great couple, congratulations guys!!!!!

Dress: Amsale Gown – Dahlia  “I got it at Lowes Bridal in Brinkley, Arkansas. I tried it on and was instantly sold!  I fell in love with it right away!  The sweetheart neckline was extremely flattering, I loved the silk taffeta and the detail on the skirt. I felt that it was very reminiscent of Jackie O’s wedding gown.  It was different from any dress I’d ever seen and perfect for a each wedding.  Not to mention, it had pockets!! “

Veil: Cathedral veil –  “It was the most beautiful veil I had ever seen. What meant most to me was that it was my mother-in-laws. It was ironic how perfect the style and color of the lace matched my dress. “

Pearl Neclace: Katie’s necklace (Beau’s sister) – “She passed away in a car wreck a few years back so wearing her pearls made me feel she was with us on our wedding day.  It meant a lot to Beau as well.  Tears filled his eyes when he found out I was wearing Katie’s pearls.”

Shoes: None – “Shoes…well, I had none! Everyone was barefoot including the guests. My very creative mother-in-law did make some cute flip flops for me to wear at the reception!”
