Engage 2011 – Let the games begin

Registration starts and all the goodies are given out! the opening remarks are about to begin….

As all the behind the scene guys come out of hiding to present each attendee with their gift bags and badges.

The gift bag is ‘chock of block’ full of amazing stuff, bundt cake, nuts, sweeties, cayman taffee, granola, a wrap, a beautiful picture in a frame by kristy rice, and a cayman lime daiquiri. And much much more!

Each attendee had a name card to place at their table.

Well, this is Liam, he is two! But his first ever outing was to engage 09, he was born two days before engage 09 opened and we came straight from the hospital to engage with him. So…. he got my gift bag! Well not the rum!

Session Begins – Day 1

Shomari Scott, director of tourism of the Cayman Islands gave the opening remarks to a huge crowd in the Grand Cayman Ritz Ballroom.

Simon T. Bailey spoke and captivated the crowd! Simon is an internationally celebrated speaker, author and consultant and a Catalyst for Brilliance. Rumor has it that he will be the youngest member of the Speaker Hall of Fame! He is the author of “Release Your Brilliance“

He had the attendee’s work at writing and communicating with others which brought one attendee to leap over chairs… yep.. he motivated us!

And then it was Donna Von Bruening to the stage to deliver a personal story! She had the attendee’s cheering and then had 50% of us in tears! Brilliant.Darcy Miller is the editorial director of Martha Stewart Wedding, she showed us some great slides of some gorgeous wedding. The attendee’s were busy taking notes. Darcy is so funny, she had us all cracking up, she even started giggling herself and couldn’t stop! “We are always laughing at work!”

Kathryn Arce, managing director of Engaging Concepts, takes the stage to thank a few people. Outside the ballroom is a huge flat screen TV showing tweets as they come in.I couldn’t fit Randy Fenoli on 1 page as you see how animated a speaker he is! Look how the crowd is totally captivated by him and jump to their feet to applause! Randy has been the fashion director for Kleinfeld, and the star of TLC’s “Say Yes To The Dress“.Randy announced the release of his new book and then surprised the attendee’s with a free signed copy each!!!!! Yes we were “gobsmacked”!
