Where are you both from….
We are both from County Tyrone, Ireland
The Dress
It was the first dress I tried on! I had made a vision board for our wedding and had pinned a dress very similar – once I tried it on I knew it was the one. I was with my mum (Carmel), my sister (Alannah) and my best friend, Seainin. A few tears were shed! I loved it so much
How did Michael pop the question
We lived in Vancouver for a year and a half. My family all came over to visit us and one evening before we went out for dinner – Michael walked me down to Kits Beach and proposed . My family all knew and watched from afar. Our friend Aidan hid nearby and captured lots of pictures! It was so nice having my family there. Michael’s family then came out the next week so we had lots of celebrations
How did you both meet
We both met in Belfast on a night out when we were both studying in Queens University – nearly 10 years ago!
The Venue
Finca Monasterio – we booked it 2 weeks after we got engaged . We saw it online and loved it. It exceeded all expectations and we have never experienced better customer service 10/10
First Look
We did a first look which was maybe a little un traditional but it really put us both at ease before the chapel and was lovely to get some time together before all the chaos kicked off
Our first look together was so lovely and put us both at ease. My first look with Dad was very emotional – it was a highlight of the day!
All the Feels…
We had the best day of our lives! I loved getting ready in the morning with my 5 bridesmaids – they truly brought the vibes. Everyone loved the flowers, desos florist, I hadn’t seen them before the day and they exceeded all expectations. Also every single vendor we worked with made the day so relaxed and went above and beyond. A highlight was during first dance when the sparks went off with all our groomsmen and bridesmaid was a 10/10 moment.
Any Anxieties
No we were both very chilled – a week in Spain before hand can do that for you !
The Aisle
How did you feel – Very happy and excited to see all our loved ones!
Cocktails and Special Touches
We had margaritas and brambles on arrival to the Finca which went down a treat.
We also put Polaroids at everyones place setting, little pictures of them with us from years gone by – it was a great conversation starter for everyone and everyone loved it
The Decor
Desos florist in Marbella – it was amazing so glad we went for colourful flowers.
My Godfather, Tony, owns Belfast Crystal and made us two champagne glasses with the Finca engraved in them. It was very special seeing them set at the top table.
