The minute we walked into our venue, we knew this was the place we wanted to be married. Its rustic yet modern charm perfectly reflected both of our styles, and the fact that most of our guests could stay on site was a total game changer. It added an intimacy to our wedding that simply couldn’t be matched. We spent three wonderful days there, with each day offering something new — a different space, a unique moment, and another reason to fall in love with the place all over again. We are, and always will be, completely in love with this venue!

The Story
Amy and David met through a mutual friend who Amy met in college when they were 18. After 1 year of multiple nights out and slowly becoming best friends, David asked Amy on a date and they pretty much became serious straight away and never looked back!

Wedding Planner
Raquel Bonnici, Wanderlust Weddings. Raquel was amazing from the beginning. Nothing was ever an issue and she helped work through every possibility before coming to the right decision from venue viewing to our ceremony area! Our day ran so smoothly with Raquel on site and I honestly don’t know where we would have been without her.

How did David pop the question
David secretly organised a holiday to Port de Sóller in Mallorca in June 2023, which I thought was just a getaway with four of our best friends. I was under the impression that David’s best friend — and Best Man — Mark had arranged a boat trip for one of the evenings. As the boat sailed out toward the sunset, with our own private captain and hostess, I started to think it all felt very romantic… and maybe a little too elaborate for something Mark would have planned! Then, just as the sun dipped below the horizon in Port de Sóller, David dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him.

The Dress
Verona Bridal Belfast – I had been to two dress shops before coming to Verona. I was with my mum, my maid of honour, and best friend, Sallyann. I had tried on six dresses in total, and this one was the last. When I walked out, my mum and Sallyann both had tears in their eyes, and I just knew instantly it was the one. It was the only dress all day that fit me like a glove, and I felt so comfortable in it — I just knew straight away.

Decor and Flowers
Deseos Florist Marbella – Karen from Deseos was an absolute dream to work with. I was quite particular about the décor and overall vibe I wanted, and she completely understood my vision. We had two FaceTime calls and one in-person meeting before the big day, which really helped bring everything together and make my ideas come to life. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

Traditions
Even though you wouldn’t expect to worry about the weather in Spain, our Irish heritage meant we couldn’t resist following tradition and bringing along a Child of Prague statue. It’s said that if you leave it outside the night before your wedding, it ensures good weather — something we don’t get too often back home in Ireland! The day before our wedding, when we checked in, it actually rained. So, we placed the Child of Prague outside the bridal suite that night… and woke up to endless blue skies and sunshine for the entire wedding weekend. 😉

First Look
I did a first look with my dad and was something I had never really thought about doing, but it turned out to be a moment I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. The look on his face as I walked out the door was pure, genuine happiness.

The Aisle
How did you feel – “nervous, happy, and completely overwhelmed by the feeling of love.”

The Kiss
Surrounded by the people we love most, we shared our first kiss as a married couple in Spain — the place that already feels like home and where we dream of settling in the future. It was the perfect start to our forever.

The Exclusivity
I think the most unique part of our wedding was the venue and the fact that we had it exclusively to ourselves. We enjoyed three full days of pure joy and happiness with our guests. From the moment everyone checked in to the time they checked out, it felt like a retreat filled with celebration, laughter, and love.

Photos
How was it – Rebecca!! The most enjoyable photographer — you can instantly tell she’s truly experienced and absolutely loves what she does. There wasn’t a single moment that wasn’t fun! Our entire bridal party, including my two-year-old daughter, loved posing for her (which doesn’t usually happen too easily!).
“Love you guys! Thankyou for choosing me!”

The Guests
Any anxiety? ….. Of course, overall I was most worried about my guests enjoying themselves, which turned out to be the last thing I need to be care about. The staff and all suppliers where absolutely amazing and the day could not have gone any better.

We can’t put into words how truly happy this day made us. After 11 years together, one home, one beautiful baby, and moving countries as a family, being able to share our love story with everyone who’s been part of it was the greatest gift. We feel so incredibly lucky to have spent those few unforgettable days surrounded by the people we love, in the most stunning setting, with the most amazing suppliers, and at such an incredible venue. It’s a day we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
