Aekta and Jignesh – Mehendi Event – Marriott Hotel

August 13, 2010

The Mehendi Event is the tradition of painting the bride with Henna, in the old days Mehendi replaced having jewelery for the bride as it looks like the bride is wearing jewelery. Aekta and Jignesh on this evening dressed in traditional Indian costume along with approximately 150 guests at the Marriott Hotel, one of Grand Caymans largest ballroom and enjoyed an evening full of laughter and games. As the evening progressed many of the women had Henna painted on.

Aekta and Jignesh sit and watch fun and games that their families have arranged for the evening.

Some of the games had couples walking through a maze with a ball being held on their chests. It was so funny to watch them as they held their hands behind their backs and then being cheered on by the families. Then they were divided up and they had to race for small lemons, run back to the start and squeeze as much juice out of the lemons. What fun as they then had to see who squeezed the most juice and the families would cheer them on. Women received ornate Indian Bangles as favours.
