We met at LA Fitness at 5 o’clock in the morning eleven years before we got married. I had recently relocated to Georgia from Pennsylvania and my car still displayed my Pennsylvania tag. Apparently, he had been watching me from afar for a couple weeks, but finally found the opportunity to make my acquaintance. On this day, he happened to park his car a row behind mine. As I exit my vehicle to enter the gym, he says, ” that’s a long way to commute just to come to LA Fitness!” Due to the early hour, I am briefly confused. I then realize his observation and begin to laugh. That was it! I was hooked! Aside of a few bumps in the road, we’ve been together ever since!

My dress is special to me because I picked it out all by myself! I knew I wanted a dress that was slightly modest (emphasis on slightly) but would impress my man! I looked at several designers but the dresses by Galia Lahav spoke to me. Sadly, there were not any dress boutiques in Atlanta that sold her dresses. I found a shop in Tennessee of all places that sold her dresses. I packed up three of my girlfriends (Javacia, Christina and Stephanie) and we took a road trip to Nashville (again-of all places!) to find my dress. The dress I chose wasn’t one of Lahav’s more lavish pieces because it didn’t fit my budget and the designs I adored weren’t from the current season. Strangely enough, the first dress I tried on at The Dress Theory was “the one!” Mind you I still tried on other dresses at this boutique and I also tried different wedding dresses before this trip. I will never forget the journey to finding my dress. I think I made a great choice!

Well the Groom is a picky guy so he chose his colors and the suits for himself and the groomsmen. He had everyone to buy a custom made suit from Q Tailors and worked closely with the master tailor Esteban. He would even let the Bride see his suit until the wedding day. Personal Note from the Groom: “Hell, if I couldn’t see her dress until that day then she was going to see my suit until she came down the isle.” Luckily we both had good taste and teh colors popped all over the place.

Well, I (groom) saw her in the gym working out at 5am. The fact that she was working out for real was impressive. Then she stood up and walked by and I noticed she had all the right ATTRIBUTES that I like…….LOL. So I said to myself, WOW!! A few days later we were pulling into the gym parking lot around the same time and I noticed the tag on her car. It was a Pennsylvania tag. I walked up to her and said, “Pennsylvania, that is a hell of a commute every morning just to come to L.A. Fitness.” She laughed and we got to know each other. Of course she played hard to get for a long time but she finally succumbed to my charm and we have been together ever since. Now she is my wife.

The most romantic gondola ride and proposal with a banner hanging from a bridge in Venice, Italy. He had a company video tape the entire event without her knowing anything at all. She cried big crocodile tears and he felt proud that he had pulled it off without tipping the gondola over when he stood up to get down on one knee. We have the video if there is room for it.

The bride made the best choices in color and decorations EVER. Little known to everyone we incorporated both of our favorite flowers in all the decorations. Yes, the groom and the bride have a favorite flower.

I felt at ease and very happy (bride)

Groom: Seeing her in that dress for the first time and feeling proud that she was coming towards me to join me forever. Bride: Seeing my husband at the end of the aisle, nailing our first dance and the dance contest at the reception.

Groom: We did not see each other before the wedding. We both wanted to be surprised and feel that euphoria.
Bride: We did not see each other before and I am happy about it. I have this vivid memory of my husband at the end of the aisle, waiting for me. I will never forget it and I do not think this memory would be so strong or happy had I seen him before the wedding.

Groom: It was freaking awesome. The colors, the people, the venue, the beach, the first dance, the kiss.
Bride: It went so fast, but I had a great time! I wished that I could have been a guest at our wedding!

Groom: Start VERY early, visit the venues prior and trust in your wedding planner.
Bride: get a wedding planner and trust his/her judgement

Groom: Seeing all those colors blend in with the beach as the backdrop. That was a beautiful site and everyone was having fun.
Bride: The fun and the laughter. Rebecca, you helped to make pictures with the bridal party a great experience.

Groom: Don’t let it worry you. Even rain makes for some beautiful pictures. I didn’t know that teh rain would add such dramatic effect but now I think all wedding should have a few clouds.
Bride: Have an idea of a few poses or shots that you would like to see, be sure you view previous work of the photographer you choose and then trust his/her expertise

First Song as husband and wife was: “Game Changer” by Johnny Gill Father-daughter dance was: “Every Beat of My Heart” by Gladys Knight & the Pips Mother-Son dance was: “I’ll always love my Momma” by The Intruders

The Newspaper that we had made. The Statue that we had made of us.

Groom: You are awesome Rebecca. We couldn’t be happier at this moment.
Bride: Rebecca, you were so fun. You have a calm demeanor and you made me feel comfortable.

Groom: I didn’t want there to be a Hurricane. Luckily there wasn’t one.
Bride: Too few guests, starting too late, no one having a good time, hair/make up not looking right….. the list goes on! Everything turned out all right!

The Groom had always dreamed of visiting and possibly living in the Caymans as a young kid when he first saw it in movies and in pictures. When we met, he mentioned it to her and we put it on the list of places to visit. Then we got engaged and decided on a destination wedding. We figured, what better place than the Cayman Islands with it’s beauty and scenery. Little known fact, The groom had to talk the bride out of Bora-Bora as our destination wedding site. She had that in her mind until we looked at the map…LOL.
