Cayman Islands Wedding at the Wharf | Danny and Julie | All You Need is LOVE

January 28, 2016

The wedding at the Wharf for Danny and Julie was a one that will be remembered for a very long time in the Cayman Islands. The fun and excitement at the port of call while the guests had a pre-wedding cocktail to await the groom, actually (the bride was the first one there – hiding in the little gift shop having some quite moments with her girls and her brother. The groomsmen were very naughty from the start which basically led into them of course dancing down the aisle. When Danny saw Julie walk down the aisle his faced showed everything… and then when he choked during the vows….well… not a dry eye in the place!!! Once the couple were married and Ms Joy announced them… before they could walk down the aisle the whole audience (75 of them) burst into “All You Need is LOVE…” I found myself singing along for this couple….it was incredible. After a few photos of the couple and the bridal party, I am not sure if I actually got a ‘normal’ bridal party shot because they are all ‘nutters’ and were all so happy! I could have photographed them for hours, they were just so so so happy and having so much fun. Once we were back at the Wharf and in their very capable hands, drinks and dinner was served while we watched the most gorgeous sunset!!! WOW congratulations Danny and Julie…. what an amazing couple!!! Please don’t stop emailing me….. you will have to wean me off you guys slowly as I love your humour and bantering that has been going on each day!

I LOVE how you LOVE!!!!

The engagement was on November 20 so, in order to get the dress to Cayman in time for January 8 and ensure it fitted, I had to decide quickly. Google is my friend and brought me to the David’s Bridal website where I found my dress and the sparkling headpiece I was wearing, all for a very reasonable price. That was our goal for the entire thing, to keep it simple and unexpensive

We met at a “Coconut Beach Party” hosted by Grace Marcar. The Coco Loco parties famous amongst our group of friends. Julie was introduced to Danny and his group of friends – which most were at the wedding – by Catherine Tick, a coworker of Julie. Funny, one of these friends recently shared a picture of that night, July 27, 2013. That was our first encounter, our first actual date was towards the end of September 2013.

Very casually over mango martinis at home at cocktail hour… The conversation geared towards this marriage thing and since it was unplanned, Danny used one of Julie’s rings from the dresser and got down on one knee to pop the question!

The surprise songs by our guests and the live band at the end of the ceremony before we walked down the aisle as husband and wife. .. “All You Need is Love” & “God Only Knows” from the soundtrack of the movie “Love Actually”, organized by Gina & Andreas Kettner. To be able able to look at our guests and make eye contact if only for a moment was priceless! Danny’s emotional vows to Julie The ring exchange, the groom’s ring had a special meaning to both of us… Wearing the veil that was Julie’s “something borrowed” and worn by Mariejosee at her own wedding ten years before…

Robyn Banfield of Studio V made me look very glamorous but kept it all natural at the same time. Simone Whittaker did a fantastic job with our wedding beach decor, the flowers and keepping us sane!

From the sneak peeks we have seen so far, we can tell that you are very talented Rebecca… Don’t change jobs, you are in the right field!! You have managed to capture the emotion and the joy that was transpiring from both of us on that day. Danny really does not like “posing” for pictures but you made him feel at ease during the session and it shows on the shots. Fantastic job and thank you!

April Wisniewski at Funky Monkey helped us find a white pair of linen pants for the groom before Christmas. Not easy when there was a “white” party just the week before at Abacus 🙂 Rentals was handled by Celebrations

Forget about stuff you may be self-conscious about and let the real emotion and happiness shine! The unbridled happiness is what you and others will see.

Julie: I was nervous about the whole thing, set-up, ceremony and party up until about noon on the day of the wedding. After lunch I spoke to myself in the shower and said :”OK enough of this crying thing! this day should be a fun day, full of smiles and laughter, not one for crying!” from that moment on, I got pumped up on adrenaline and had a ball, enjoyed each minute…

Keep it simple or hire someone to do the planning for you.
