How did you Meet?

We first met in 2014, Chynna was an intern, and Derran was employed at a local bank. We were introduced by a coworker. Chynna likes jet-setting around the world and experiencing the finer things in life, while Derran prefers a quiet space surrounded by family. Being the middle child in each family, we have found that we balance each other out in all the right ways. We started hanging out and soon became close friends. We wouldn’t call it dating necessarily, but we spent a lot of time together. It took us a few years before we figured out that we belonged and after Chynna graduated from Emory University in May 2017, we decided to start making memories together as a couple. Family events; trips traveling the world to Orlando, Florida; London, England; Paris, France; Barcelona and Madrid, Spain; Combria and Lisbon, Portugal; Budapest, Hungary; Prague, Czech Republic; Vienna, Austria.

How did Derran pop the questions?

In October 2020, Derran proposed to Chynna after a fun-filled night at the Silver Palm Lounge at The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman. We knew from then that the Ritz had a special place in our hearts, and we would be back for our wedding.

Our Welcome Reception at Saint June was definitely the highlight of our wedding weekend. We chose to have a welcome reception instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner. We wanted a fun cocktail reception to kick off our wedding celebrations and the beachside setting at Saint June was an amazing location for a beautiful sunset and fireworks show. It was a great way to celebrate and welcome all of our out of town guests, family and friends before our big day. It was the perfect night before.

What was your overall wedding experience

Our wedding weekend was magical. The Ritz Carlton served as the perfect venue for our wedding, offering an elegant and luxurious atmosphere on our special day. We can’t thank our vendors enough for all their hard work and for helping us create such a memorable wedding. We also want to thank our friends and family for being there with us and supporting us. We are so happy that we were able to share this special day with all of them and create such beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
