Jordyn and Cody chose the ROCK for their Gibraltar wedding… this gorgeous, unique place to say “I do” was perfect! I have photographed Jordyn for many years… and her grand parents live in Gibraltar… so these 3 Caymanians, journeyed to the Rock (from the rock) to hang with the monkeys… oh and get married.

Following Cody’s accident last year we were fast tracked into a serious situation which made us both realize the importance of living in the moment and following your heart.

The Dress

I found my dress online, knowing I would want to make some serious alterations to make it my own. With so much skill and expertise from designer Danielle Capizano on island my dream dress became a reality.

Unique items from the day

My Welsh gold wedding ring, designed by us both and custom made. It was important for me to have my heritage with me instead of a big flashy ring.

How did Cody pop the question

Nothing about our story has been traditional; this was a mutual decision where we just realized this was the path we wanted to go down together.

Unique part of your day

With my grandparents as our only witnesses, Maya serving as maid of honor, best “man”, and flower girl and getting ready together we wanted the day to be as fun and casual as possible.

Did you and Cody see each other before the wedding

We enjoyed getting ready together, the day was a special everyday kind of day for us which was what we wanted.

How did you meet

We met by chance inside a local restaurant (Yoshi’s) and hit it off right away.

Any wedding jitters…

No nerves! Because of the nature of the day and how we planned it we felt confident it would be simple and that we would be comfortable.

What made you choose your venue

It was important for us to include my grandparents, who cannot travel long distances to have been with us in Cayman. Once we decided that we would go to them the gardens were an easy pick as we both love gardening (having one at home that we maintain together).

Advise to other couples wanting to elope

It is the best way to get exactly what you want without having to worry about others; splurge on the important things and trust the team you choose in the location. They know best and will make it perfect!

Overall wedding experience

Super laid back, it was perfect for us and we wouldn’t have changed a thing!

How did you feel taking pictures

Absolutely relaxed and carefree, for people who aren’t in front of the camera much we hardly realized we were taking pictures as it was so easy and not forced.
