THE DRESS
Ha, I ordered my dress and did not try it on until a few weeks before the wedding. Only to find out they ordered the wrong size of dress. I ended up with this dress because it was the only one in the store in my exact size on hand. At the end of the day, I was still marrying Tom….No matter what dress i was in and thats what mattered.

HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET
We met through mutual friends over 20 years ago. We were friends for a long time and eventually Tom reached out via Instagram and admitted to a crush and wanted to know if we could hang out ! We talked on and off for a few more years and eventually both ended up in Idaho Falls at the same time so Tom asked me to dinner. We haven’t stopped hanging out ever since !

HOW DID THOMAS PROPOSE
At the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris !

Grand Old House
Grand Old House was the venue for the ceremony and reception. Overlooking the Caribbean, guests witnessed the “I do’s” and then cocktailed as the sunset.
Grand Old House was the very first place we ever went on island. It has been our favorite ever since then. And there’s a lot of competition in Grand Cayman! We of course love the food, the setting, and now have become familiar faces with the staff. They always make it a point to come over and say hello. We love Poppy sitting with his cigars and the carribean charm you can’t help but feel while you’re there.

HOW DID YOU FEEL WALKING DOWN THE AISLE
Calm the minute we locked eyes

HOW UNIQUE WAS YOUR WEDDING
Definitely ! Our wedding was a 4 day event of activities so by the time the wedding day rolled around all of our guests from all over the country and different walks of life had become friends. Most had never visited the Cayman Islands. Watching these friendships build with the closest people in our lives truly made our day special. Tom and I each have two boys and watching the unity of becoming a family was definitely special.
We did a flash dance, which was a blast! And let’s not forget that we broke the dance floor!
The rain started to pour around 10 PM. The DJ said he noticed the rain and thought that might deter everyone from having a good time. He said he looked up only to notice the entire party was barefoot dancing in the rain ! That’s a memory you will never forget.

ANY TRADITIONS
I felt that we added a unique twist on basically everything! It was anything but traditional.

THE RECEPTION
We had a really diverse group of people. People that had nothing in common I saw dancing, laughing, and getting to know each other.
I loved my oyster shells for seat placement, I loved that the staff at grand old house danced with us, I loved the champagne tower, the late night, snacks, I love watching people who never dance hitting the dance floor!

ANY NERVES…
Yes, I was definitely nervous about the flash dance as nobody had practiced it together ! I was nervous about the speeches because neither Tom or I prepped our speeches and did it by the seat of our pants!

FUN PHOTOS
I loved that Rebecca allowed us to hoot and holler and dance while she captured real life moments. That was exactly when I wanted to treasure from the day.
