SLIDESHOW

Dress Boutique/Grooms Suit: Tie the Knot Dress Designer, David Tutera | Calvin Klein

Watching him sit patiently while I was getting my hair and makeup done, admiring how handsome he looked, and how truly blessed I am. I loved that he kept close while I was getting ready, as being around him gives me a sense of calm and happy. Walking up behind him and doing our first look. Just us being us and laughing. Looking into his eyes. Watching her excitement grow during the day. Keeping her calm and knowing I am now taking care of her. The “accidental” kiss. Picking up her dress as we walked along the beach during pictures. The sunset and green flash. Her eyes and smile.

I found it after “believing” that I found the right dress 2x times prior. It was a dress I saw in pictures and had saved as my dream dress. After just not feeling right about the 2nd dress I thought was the one, I tried a store in our city one last try. Low and behold my “dream dress” was there and fit perfectly. I really wanted an elegant feel to our beach wedding. I thought navy would be a great color scheme to compliment my dress, the beach, ocean, and his handsome blue eyes.

Yes, we did a first look. We both loved it and it was simply said….AMAZING. It gave us that time to be by ourselves and get those fun, loving us pictures without formality of poised shots with family/friends. We really were able to live in moment….very romantic.

Keep it simple. Let it be about you as a couple and no one else. Hire a wedding planner, as with Desiree, I would have been lost and a worried mess.

Simply put – Complete. So excited. During the ceremony it felt it was just us and the minister, everyone else faded into the background.

Let your photographer do their job. Let them be creative. Just be you as a couple and live in the moment. The natural beauty and emotions will show through if you hire the right photographer to capture your day, as we did with Rebecca.

Let your photographer help you plan the days schedule. They know when lighting is the best and can direct you as how it should flow.

Desiree Boeyen with Island Weddings & Events Ltd. was absolutely fabulous. She was attentive, very responsive, met all our requests and more. Provided great advice. Her knowledge of the industry, island, connections, and compassion are superior. Both Desiree and Rebecca tweaked things at the last minute to make some adjustments in our scheduling. They both have a calm demenior about them. I felt as if they were apart of our family. Such beautiful women.
Hair & Make Up: Jackie Soriano – she is so talented and personable.
Luca: Laura – Assisted with the cake, restaurant arrangements, menu, and special dinner requests. Luca did a wonderful job with helping us celebrate at our reception. The food, cake, and service were top notch.

I had complete faith that Rebecca would capture our personalities, essence, romance, love, and fun. Rebecca made me feel like we had been friends/family for a long time. Such a personable, caring, and genuine person. Rebecca has a true passion and love for her job and clients – and it shines through her emails and working with her in person.
