We met in a Starbucks! We were standing next to each other on line at Starbucks and I was bopping my head to the music playing when he turned around and asked me if I liked this kind of music. From there we started talking more and figured out that we have the same taste in music. He ended up inviting me to a concert! Clearly I said yes :).

I tried on so many dresses before I found this one. It was the last dress I tried on and, to be honest, I wasn’t obsessed with it. But I could see it had a lot of potential and that I wouldn’t be able to find one that was better. I only bought it under the condition that I could make a lot of changes to it. And those changes were made brilliantly by Virginia at Pronovias! Some of the changes I made: I cut the train by about 4 feet, I added two lace appliques to the front so that the lace came down further on the dress, and I had the straps removed. It ended up being perfect!

He completely surprised me! All of my friends and family knew for a few weeks before he actually did it. I was oblivious! He came home from work on Friday April 7 and started saying all these sweet things to me. I had no idea what was going on, so I was like “yeah yeah OK what are we doing tonight?” And, all of a sudden, I felt him reach into his pocket and I then finally realized what was happening, haha. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! The best part of all this is that he had planned a surprise party for me – he had invited his friends and my friends to come over to celebrate. I started to cry when I saw my friends walk in with huge balloons- I was so happy! The night was one of the best of my life. Also- So. Much. Champagne.

We love the Cayman Islands! We travel there multiple times a year – Dave has been almost 20 times and Victoria has now been there 7 times. Dave is an avid scuba diver and Victoria loves the beach! Despite some initial hesitation, Victoria even got scuba certified. Grand Cayman is so beautiful, with amazing food and people. It’s like our second home! It was Dave’s idea to have the wedding there, and we are all so thrilled he suggested it.

Probably not unique for anyone getting married in the Cayman Islands but we loved the Coconut Rum Bar by 5 Star Events! None of our guests had ever had that before and everyone LOVED it.

The weather! But it turned out to be truly perfect.

Extremely calm actually! Just happy to be marrying Dave.

Truly the most amazing day of our lives. The decor, food, music, photography, and weather exceeded our expectations. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Also, I loved the experience of planning the wedding. I was working with such great people: Elina, Kevin, Rebecca, Eden, Craig, Kadian, and Natalie- who all put me at ease throughout every stage of the process. There was almost no stress! I miss working on it.

Little Magic (during cocktail hour)

Something unique about our wedding (also mentioned below). Neither of us are very into slow dancing, especially in front of people. So, we decided to mix things up a bit! We played a traditional first dance song (Unchained Melody), but after about one minute, we had DJ Craig play “What is Love?” by Haddaway and invite everyone on to the dance floor. Everyone loved it! We were told by many that it was very “us.” It was nice to have a surprise for the guests.

Absolutely our favorite moment was marrying each other, of course :). We also loved the coconut rum bar by 5 Star Events. It was such a hit! One of our favorite moments was during the first dance. We were told by many that it was very “us.” It was fun to do something different than most. Eating! The food was incredible. So many guests told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had! (Thank you, Kevin!) One of the best moments for me was when my friend Jackie convinced me to sit in a chair and then, suddenly, a few of the male guests ran over and picked me up in the chair! Right before this, my Matron of Honor, Elise, had asked DJ Craig to play “You make me want to shout,” which was the perfect song to be lifted up to. It was a little nerve wracking but so much fun!! Finally, the sparklers before dancing all night long!

How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day:

Rebecca was so amazing to work with. Not only was she professional, organized, and clearly talented but she was so much fun! She was very understanding of those who do not love to have their pictures taken. Even those people enjoyed taking photos with her! Rebecca was really like a second wedding planner. Before the day she gave helpful suggestions on music and the day’s timeline. On the day of she was provided essential support and helped make sure everything went smoothly. She went above and beyond to make the day perfect. We are so grateful for everything she did – we don’t know what we would have done without her!
