Tara + Michael

Hemmingways Beach Wedding

Venue: Getting Ready, Margaritaville | Ceremony, Hemmingways

Planner: Five Star Events | Juliette Heath

Lily’s are my favorite and needed to be incorporated. I also wanted bright vibrant colors. Juliette was wonderful in making my visions come to life

Decor: We wanted string lights everywhere and we got it!

DJ Matt from Hemingway’s was wonderful. He played almost every song from the 200+ song list I sent him (yes I am neurotic!)

Hair and Makeup: Jackie Soriano and Trina

Tara is a bartender and mike was a bar patron which eventually turned in to much more!

After Mike retired from NYPD, one of many things he did was get his pilots license. The day before thanksgiving in 2016, we flew to ocean city Maryland for the day. He claims that I was being a brat because I didn’t get the famous Maryland crab cakes that I wanted but, he still proposed in his plane as he flew me back from Maryland to NY. During the ride, my door slightly popped open and I thought, “Well, this would happen to me. I would get engaged and then die!” Thankfully, we didn’t die, and we celebrated our engagement that night. Best Thanksgiving ever.

We woke up next to each other that day and didn’t see each other until out first look. I wouldn’t have done it differently. Waiting made it feel more special

I got my dress online for an extremely cheap price. I took a chance and knew that if it was ugly I’d have to buy a new one. To my surprise, I loved it, and got it tailored to reflect my dream dress

Amazing!!!!! Rebecca, you were friggin amazing

I felt the same as I do when I walk in the door from a long day and see mike. I am truly home, living my best life

My favorite moment of the entire weekend was seeing everyone together. Watching Mike’s family and mine get a long so well warmed my heart. I kept thinking “what a beautiful giant family we have!”

Amazing. Everyone was together. Everyone got along. We felt overwhelmingly loved

Don’t be afraid to be a bridezilla! Make sure everyone stays on schedule. Its your day after all 🙂

This was the first place we went on vacation. We knew then, 4 years ago, we’d get married here

Get a planner!!!!

My Dad and I did a choreographed song to a Bollywood song. My parents were born in Guyana which is confusing because we consider ourselves Caribbean but our ancestors are Indian so we are also Indian which is why we follow some Indian culture. Although we have no idea what they’re saying in the songs, we grew up with them and they are sure fun to dance to!

I was nervous because everything was going so smoothly. I thought wedding days were supposed to be stressful? Mine definitely wasn’t.

Reno at Hemingway’s and Juliette of 5 star events as well as Rebecca Davidson were Phenomenal. God had my back when I chose you guys
Where did you find most of your stuff?
I ended up getting most accessories and small things like the cake topper from Etsy. I love Etsy because they can pretty much personalize anything you want.
