Ali and Cody’s Marriott Wedding in the Caribbean was absolutely stunning. They chose the Cayman Islands for this EPIC event, and brought their family and friends to this gorgeous little island to celebrate in class.

What was your favourite moments from the wedding

During our vows William sat quietly behind me filling a bucket with sand. He never sits still- we assumed he’d be running around or trying to get our attention during the entire ceremony but he was totally calm. It was unbelievable. And seeing Cody show so much emotion during the ceremony was incredible. He’s usually so composed.

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome

It was hard because Cody’s parents, two of our bridesmaids, our officiant and quite a few guests canceled last minute because of growing concern over Coronavirus. But it made the wedding more intimate and we were incredibly grateful for the guests who did make it out. The day before the wedding one of Cody’s oldest friends stepped in as our officiant and did an amazing job. Just before going to bed on the night before our wedding, we each sat down with him and his wife and they asked us questions about our relationship to incorporate into the ceremony. It was great to have that be the last thing we did before our wedding day.

Did you see each other before the wedding

Yes, and the photos are absolutely incredible. I think the ceremony would have been too emotional if we had waited to see each other until that point. Plus it made our wedding feel longer, which is amazing because everything goes by so quickly

How did he pop the question

We were in Maui on our babymoon. He was so nervous that I thought he was going to tell me he was sick and dying. Finally, he pulled out the ring and I realized what was happening.

What was memorable about taking pictures with your bridal party

That we didn’t feel like we had to pose. It was very organic and comfortable. We were just having fun.

How was your experience with your wedding planner

Cassie was incredible

How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day

Amazing. The day ended up being way more stressful than I had anticipated, but you were such a calming presence. You had a plan but were incredibly flexible and I think really understood what we wanted to get out of our photos and what we needed to control our crazy wedding party.

Were there any unique items in your wedding that you would like to highlight

We had our pets added into the cake because they couldn’t travel with us. We love champagne so we did a victory lane photo and later a champagne tower, which made us incredibly happy. After the sparkler send off a few of the guests started frolicking and fire dancing on the beach- I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a while.
