South Sound Cayman Wedding – Michael and Monique
Michael and Monique chose to have an intimate wedding on Surfers Paradise Beach surrounded by their family and friends. The weather was perfect and Michael waited under palm trees as Monique rocked up on the arms of her two brothers. Monique’s wedding dress was stunning with an added shawl was just perfect. The best man kept Michael in good shape dressed in shorts and suspenders… the perfect beach wedding outfit.
The dress…
“We originally planned to get married in February 2022 but moved the date up because travel plans had changed for Mike’s parents. So I asked around about ordering online and perhaps getting a dress made 2 months before the date. I was told that I would never get a dress made in that short amount of time. A friend referred me to Danielle Capizano and she made my dream dress in no time!”
They met on April Fools day 2019 – no joke
The setting was perfect, everyone sat in the shade and waited on Monique to arrive.
Michael asked for Moniques hand on April 28th at her mums birthday party (Monique didn’t know) . He was so happy, the minute Monique and Michael left, not being able to contain his excitement, he spilled the beans and told the immediate family.
On May 8th, Michael then popped the question to his bride to be. Bill, Monique’s dad very suddenly passed away on June 6th less than a month later.
May 8 is May Global Big Day and October 9 (wedding day) is October Global Big Day. Very special dates for the bride and groom.
How they met…
‘We met on Tinder by chance. HAHA! We hung out for a few nights amongst friends then finally went on a proper date 4 days later and we have been together ever since.’
How he popped the questions
‘We went on a staycation to Morritt’s (my plan). On the last night of our staycation, we went out onto the beach to watch the stars (quite a few shooting stars that night). We chatted and drank champagne on the beach chairs and then he got down on one knee and asked.’
When Michael proposed, they saw 3 massive shooting stars and Monique said “its the Universe congratulating us!”
Their First Kiss
Monique kissed Michael first… but she asked first also….
Michaels family could not travel for the wedding (well for this one) but they didn’t miss a single thing as they had a front row seat, all the way from Canada.
When it came to traditions for a wedding….

Did you guys see each other before the wedding…
“We saw each other the morning of. We aren’t traditional so we spent the night together the night before and said our good-byes at about 10:30 AM the morning of.”
