The Dress

When we got engaged back in 2016 my brother had asked me if he could design my wedding dress. It meant so much to me. He is a designer who had worked with some of the best designers in the business including Tom Ford and Burberry so I knew it would be nothing short of AMAZING. We started looking at dress ideas in 2017 so it was years and years of hard work and dedication. He took so much time out of his crazy busy life to design and make the dress of my dreams and I will forever be thankful for having such a special and unique dress.

Unique Story

We got married in Mijas town in the church right round the corner from where we got engaged which made it even more special.

How did you meet

We met when we were young, 18 and 20. He chased me for a bit and then I finally gave in haha and here we are 12 years later married with beautiful little girl and we wouldnt have it any other way.

How did Colum pop the question

We visited Mijas town a lot, as it was somewhere Colum went every summer with his family. The view in Mijas was a place I always was blown away by. Colum and I went for a short holiday there in December 2016. We went to our regular spot at the blue telescope. We would alway out our 20 cents into the telescope to look at the view from the town. He put in the 20 cents and told me to have a look. I turned around and there he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I was so shocked and emotional I just burst into tears and screamed yes! A moment a will cherish forever 🙂

Favourite Moment from the wedding

Having dinner and just having a moment to sit back and look at all our family and friends together again after so long, having a great time and seeing so many smiles on peoples faces. It was such a great feeling after so many years of it being postponed and so much work going into the planning.

What were you most anxious about

Just hoping that everything went well, it was 6 years of planning. SO much time and effort had gone into it. Everything went great, but it goes by SO much. Try and take time to sit back and take it all in.

What advice to other couples

I was always a bit worried that a 4pm wedding ceremony would be too late but it was honestly the best decision we made. It was soo hot. My advice would be go with the later slot. It means that guests can enjoy their meal when it is cooler and that the bridal party and guests aren’t too hot and uncomfortable. It means that it is relaxed on the morning and you have the whole day to get ready and not be under pressure. Even with a 4pm ceremony, the day of preparations started at 8am. If it had been early, I think I would have regretted it.

How did you choose the venue

The venue was stunning! In the hills of Mijas and everything I had every dreamed of. It was breathtaking and magical.
