Mijas Wedding Villa Spain|Velvet and Karl

October 29, 2019

Karl and Velvets story…..

Velvets dad has an apartment in Miraflores and they both knew they wanted an abroad wedding, so choosing a destination for their wedding was not a difficult decision. They both knew their family and friends would travel to the South of Spain for this intimate wedding and chance to be together as a family. Choosing a private villa for their wedding …..

The venue….

Their venue, a luxury villa in the Andalusian mountains surrounded by nature and breathtaking views, was the perfect spot to quite literally get away from it all and enjoy each other’s company. Originally from Brighton, UK, this venue was absolutely perfect!

Cute Story

We really are child hood sweethearts. There was time, before we were boyfriend and girlfriend, at the age of 13 all our friends had a sleep over and we layed next to each other and woke up holding hands.

What was memorable about taking pictures with your bridal party

Seeing my sisters and my best friends together and giving them their gifts . I got them each a bag with their names on, with a dried flowered hair clip, a gold bracelet with their initials, from Etsy, and all a matching mango bag for the wedding day. They also all had matching robes, makeup bags and hangers with their names on.

We said bye to each other the Tuesday morning as we were getting married on the Wednesday. We let each other spend time with each of our friends and didn’t even text or call each other. We were super excited to see each other when we did.

Bridesmaid’s Dresses: We had these made. They were ivory like my wedding dress. I loved that we were all in the same colour as I thought it looked very elegant. I also thought it would look beautiful with the men in khaki suits and our bright flowers . They had a one shoulder maxi dress.

My heart was pounding so much I said to my dad, “Dad I can’t breath properly my heart is coming out of my chest” but he instantly calmed me down and as I started walking I was so excited to get to the end to see Karl .

How did you two meet

Karl and I met at senior school in Brighton and Hove, Blatchington Mill School. We were in the same form group in year 7. So we met when we were just 11 years old. We were best friends for 2 years and a few of my friends fancied him and I used to be the messenger. But secretly we both really fancied each other but didn’t tell anyone. And then one day in the playground when we were 14 he asked me out of the blue to be his girlfriend and obviously I said YES! Which was the 22nd of September. Our first kiss was on a bench in Stoneham Park. We have now been together 13 years.

How did he pop the question

We had been together 11 years when he proposed. I was so desperate to get married but I never thought it would happen. He booked us a holiday in Spain in Murcia. One morning when we were having breakfast on our balcony he popped the question. And I’ve never felt so happy.

We had a memory table of all the people we had lost which was so lovely as it felt like they were there with us. For our table plan we got all old pictures of people and used them on the seating chart. Everyone found that very funny.

How would you describe your overall wedding experience

Emotional and a lot of love.

My favourite moment of the wedding was my dad picking me up from the bridal suite having that special moment with him and seeing Karl at the aisle was my happiness moment.

ADVICE?

Definitely get a wedding planner! I couldn’t have done it without them and don’t do it when it’s too hot. Also organising a few days before and after for your guests.

This villa wedding spain in Mijas was perfect

I got him Gucci loafers and he got me some beautiful Jewellery to wear on the wedding day.

Photography advice

  • Make sure you do your research and show your photographer what sort of style you like and defiantly get a videographer.
  • I felt completely relaxed and also amazing to work with. I didn’t worry at all I felt they knew exactly what they were doing . They were so complementary with us. Very positive and encouraging.
