Morritts Wedding Cayman Islands | Nick and Alysha

April 4, 2020

Nick and Alysha’s beautiful Morritts Wedding in the Cayman Islands, B.W.I.

Wedding Planner: Celebrations | Valentina

Officiant: Nick Yinger | Brother

Hair and Makeup: Jackie and Trina

Ring: Great Grandfather | My ring was originally my grandmothers ring.

Dress: Wtoo – Watters

Tell us about your dress:

I went on a girls trip with my mom, step mom, and mother in law to New York to try on dresses. We found it in the first store we went to but I didn’t realize how much I loved it until I went back and looked at pictures. The crazy part is that the name of the dress was Viola which is my grandmothers name.

Unique Story

I would say the most unique thing about our wedding was COVID-19 (definitely not cute). We ended up flying home a day before the airport closed. It made for a very interesting vacation. We couldn’t of picked a better place to be while the world was panicking though.

How did you choose the groom’s outfit:

No particular way! We picked the shamrock ties because it was St. Patrick’s day.

What advice to others?

Just to trust the planner! Well first get a planner. It is super hard not being in control but at the end of the day just trysting Valentina and letting her handle the small stuff worked out perfectly.

How did you meet:

We originally met in a small town called Steamboat Springs in Colorado. We were both in engineering school but didn’t really talk much. We both ended up moving down to Denver to finish our degrees and met again in a Numerical Methods class. After a couple weeks of talking about all of the random times we saw each other in Steamboat Nick finally asked me to go snowboarding with him and we have been together since!

The experience was amazing! Nick and I are typically very awkward in pictures but you helped us through all of the shots. You made everything very easy and fun!

How did you feel during your vows or just before you walked down the aisle?

Super nervous! Neither of us like to be the center of attention.

What was your favourite moments from the wedding?

Our favorite moments were just sitting down to dinner after everything was over and talking with our friends and family. The whole experience was a lot for everyone so eating a delicious dinner and dancing was just a huge relief.
