How did you two meet?
“We have met at Aleks house. My girlfriend called me one night and asked me if I would go with her to her friend’s, friend’s house, like a house party. I wasn’t feeling like going but she was like “do it for me, please”. And since it is close to my house I was like sure. Once I saw him I felt butterflies in my stomach. I knew that he was mine haha. Very quickly we realized how many things we had in common and we are together ever since.”
Tell me about your dress.
“I found the wedding dress on Ebay. I was scrolling before we even had the wedding date. I was googling used wedding dresses as I didn’t want to import a new one without trying it, so it was less risky to order a used one. I knew what kind of dresses suit my figure and I knew that I was looking for spaghetti strap dress with open back and mermaid style. The first dress I saw on ebay is the dress I ended up buying. I was going back and forth with multiple sellers but I would always come back to this one. Lastly I sent my measurements to the seller and asked her if she would ship to Cayman. And that was it. When I tried the dress we were blown away as it fitted like a glove.”
Can you tell us a cute story/experience about you both?
“We have met when we were 18 and 19. Lived in the same neighborhood for years, went to elementary school together and we met each other years after. It was a love at first sight. Neither of us believed such thing until it happened. Once we saw each other we just knew. We are together ever since. Haven’t been separated not even for a day in our 10 years relationship.”
Can you tell us something cute or unique about your wedding?
“We got engaged right after lockdown ended in Cayman, in September 2020. We wanted to make a wedding for our entire family. Since Covid wasn’t ending we decided to just get married. Found the wedding dress on ebay. It was a perfect fit and no alterations were needed. We hired celebrations for the arch and we did all of the flowers ourselves including the bridal bouquet.”
How did he pop the question?
“He planed the whole weekend and The-Ritz to celebrate my birthday. Since I find everything, he was hiding the ring at the car below the seat. When we were checking in I was filling up the form he went back to the car to get something and on the way back he told the doorman to bring the ring to the room. They brought the ring to the room and left it on the counter where the champagne and welcome cake were waiting for us. I was so surprised with the cake as I love chocolate that I thought for the ring box that it was chocolate too, so I was very excited. Aleks thought that I saw the ring and then he proposed right away even though that wasn’t how he planed to do it.”
What was your favourite moment from the wedding?
“Everything 😁 Maybe the part when we were driving from Concuela to the Coral beach. As in Serbia the tradition is when you are driving to the location all the guests gather and go together, the maid of honor and groomsmen would going the first car, then bride and the groom and then everyone else. And everyone would honk to draw attention to the celebration. So this is what we did here too and it was cute to incorporate at least one tradition from our home country.”
