Tell me about your dress.
“I purchased my dress from the bridal store in my hometown when I was home for vacation in summer 2019 ( which was a year ahead of our original wedding date). I had a number of appointments booked in the region so it was really special that I was able to find my dress in my hometown. My mom, my maid of honor and a close family friend were with me when we found the dress. There were so many beautiful dresses to choose from however I just kept going back the first dress I tried on because it was perfect. It was meant to be as the dress was only available off the rack, in my exact size needing only minimal alterations.”
Were there any unique items in your wedding that you would like to highlight?
Our guest book was a giant heart made out of wine corks that our friend Toni made for us that guests could take photos using an instant Polaroid camera and pin to the cork heart.
How did you two meet?
We met at Horseshoe Bay Beach in Bermuda through mutual friends on a beach day.
How did he pop the question?
He proposed while on vacation in South Africa on a beach close to where he grew up in the Cape Town region. We often would go for beach walks when while visiting as the beach has an amazing view of Table Mountain. While on one of our walks, before turning back at the end of the beach, he popped the question.
What was your favourite moments from the wedding?
From start to finish the day was a dream from champagne with the girls, golf for the guys, 90’s dance party in the evening, it’s hard to pick out specific moments. Having a small wedding meant that we could really celebrate with everyone and enjoy the whole day.
