El Molino del Duque was the stunning venue for Karen and Donal when they were surrounded by their family and friends as they said “I Do” in the Andalusian moutains.

El Molino del Duque
El Molino del Duque is a Historic 18th century site that was used as a flour mill for the old town of Manilva. Renovated into a family home but now used as a gorgeous venue for weddings.

THE DRESS
It took me a lot less time than I thought to find THE dress! I went to Kadee Bride in Athlone with my mum and my bridesmaids, I had a few dresses in mind to try on. When I tried on the styles I saw online they were ok on me and we looked around the boutique for more styles. My Mum found a very different style dress and when I tried it on I loved it and knew it was the one from the reactions!

HOW DID YOU MEET
We met in the thick of Covid lock down in January 2021. We met in St Stephens Green park in Dublin for a coffee and walk on a Sunday afternoon. We had lots in common and instantly knew there was a spark!

VENUE
El Molino del Duque is a stunning venue with so many lovely photo backdrops which we loved especially the balcony shots!
We wouldn’t be big photo people but Rebecca made fun and got us comfortable with posing!! We are so happy with all of the photos as it means we can relive our big day over and over again!

HOW DID DONAL POP THE QUESTION
It was an average Saturday morning with no plans so we went into town to meet Donal’s sister Gail for coffee…or so I thought! Donal suggested we go for a quick stroll in St Stephens Green before we met her and popped the question on a bench there just like our first date! He had organised for our family to come to meet us for drinks and stay in a hotel that night, I was so surprised!

THE AISLE
I felt very excited, it was so special to be walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing all of our close friends and family there in one place! The setting was magical and, when I saw Donal, any nerves I had went away instantly!

SPECIAL MOMENTS
We wanted our day to be really personal so we asked my brother Brian and Donal’s sister Lorna, who we are very close to, to marry us! They said an amazing ceremony that was so special and personal to us.
The stationery on the day was designed by our friend, Rebecca, and we absolutely loved it. The design featured the beautiful house at El Molino and also the theme of our invitations which was a palm tree. Our wedding candle also featured a similar design which we will keep and light on our anniversary each year!

THE PLANNER
Raquel Bonnici from Wanderlust Weddings, she was super to work with to plan our special day, she kept us and all of our suppliers on track. No request was too big for Raquel and her team. The day before our wedding Raquel was running out to the shops to pick up some small details for us. Everything went smoothly on the day and we had the best day. We would highly recommend her.
