Caribbean Club Wedding Grand Cayman | Carly and Russell

November 20, 2014

Carly and Russell arrived from the UK with their immediate family for their very intimate wedding at the Caribbean Club. Carly chatted to her freind in Qatar and her girlfriends in the UK via ‘face-time’ as she got ready and Russell hung out with the lads as he donned his awesome red robin cufflinks, and brilliant shoes with matching socks to his groomsmen. The cufflinks had a special meaning to them both, every time they see a robin, they believe that their loved ones who are no longer with them, particularly Carly’s grandad, are watching over them and telling them everything is going to be ok.  Carly had sent over a card and gift and poor chap you could see the lump in his throat as he read his note from his future wife. Russell handed us a gift to give to Carly so off we went back to her room…..but Carly said she wasn’t going to cry as her makeup was just done. When she opened her gift it was a dragonfly…. from Pandora… something that meant so much to Carly and with a special meaning….yes she cried! The dragonfly has the same meaning – Carly remembers joking to Russell before the wedding and saying that the dragonfly is the Caribbean’s equivalent of their robin – hence why she cried! Carly was totally shocked he found her a dragonfly necklace! Locket on the bouquet was ‘her borrowed’ item for the wedding with a picture of her Nan and late ‘Grandpops’ inside! Carly’s mum helped her get into her dress and then her brother (who although very naughty… made such a lasting impression on me-I’ll tell you in a minute) came into the room and helped his sister with the finishing touches as poor mum just cried. It was so special to see him also walk her down the aisle to Russell who had his back turned on the gorgeous Seven Mile Beach until the last minute he turned around. Their vows were tearful and meaningful and loving and just perfect. As they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife they were showered with petals. We decided to do family photos first and that is when Carly’s brother hugged her and I heard him say “your still mine”…… I just love this guy! So off for fun photos on the beach and then we headed up the tower of Caribbean Club for their very small but GORGEOUS reception dinner on the balcony over looking the caribbean ocean and to watch the amazing sunset. Celebrations did an amazing job with the setup and decor on the tables. As a surprise to the bride and groom, Carly’s brother put a laptop in front of them with a recording from their friends back in the UK. As they were watching this you can see below the reaction on their faces as they realize their friends have made this video in their house…..even in their bed AND even in their underwear. It was so funny to watch their reaction! This was a gorgeous wedding!Rebecca Davidson Photography ©2014_0375
