Ashley + Mohsen | “A Leap of Faith, turned into Forever”

March 13, 2013

I wanted to let Mohsen start this blog post with his version of how he and Ashley met – LOVE it!! :

“I met Ashley at work back in the fall of 2008, and immediately thought she was just beautiful. She had piercing blue eyes and everything about her seemed perfect… in fact, I remember that colleagues of mine had nicknamed her “porcelain doll” because of her flawless complexion. I wanted to ask her out but there was an obvious work-client barrier that I was not comfortable crossing. So in our story, timing was everything and in the end it worked out perfectly. We bumped into each other outside of work at a Food and Wine show here in Ottawa a year later. I could tell that there was something immediately between us, so after that night I told myself that I had to take her on a date. Turns out there was another more exclusive food and wine show a little while later, so I asked her out months in advance. When we went on our first date night at this wine show, we didn’t want it to end – the conversation and laughter was just too good. In fact, we ended up closing down the event, sitting and chatting away at a table while everything was being packed up around us. Having such a great time, we decided that it was too early for the night to end, and walked down to a local pub. Again, we sat and chatted as if we had known each other our whole lives.

I went into work the next day and will always remember this, as one of my colleagues asked about my date with Ashley, and I said, “She will either be the woman that I marry or the woman that breaks my heart, and hopefully not both.” It’s true that when you know, you just know and it was such an incredible feeling, not quite knowing what’s ahead of us, but yet feeling so sure about her and what she was going to mean for my life. It just felt right.

From our first date, everything else fell into place naturally: we were inseparable from the beginning, and we said we were falling for each other after six weeks. Two months in, we expressed that were in love with each other. Officially moved in together after 8 months, and engaged within a year and a half. Exactly 1 year after I proposed, we were married on the white sands of Seven Mile beach on Grand Cayman, celebrating the happiest day of our lives. What an incredible and wonderful journey it has been.”

Ashley and Mohsen got married at beautiful Caribbean Club with their closest family and friends in attendance.  The ceremony was just gorgeous, right on the beach with the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea as a backdrop!  I stayed with these guys through their reception to get some shots of their wish lanterns – my favourite!! And these guys did their first dance while their friends and family sent the wish lanterns up in to the night sky!!  I met up with these guys a few days later for a trash the dress session and man did we have fun!!  They even jumped in twice!  We had quite the audience too – too funny!! 🙂  Congratulations guys!!

I love this picture, when her dad came in to help with her necklace, Ashley said, “my dad used to brush my hair for me before school everyday when I was a little girl because he never would hurt!” Yeah I was ‘filling up’ and the wedding hadn’t even started 🙂

Mo and his Canadian Posse!!!!

So after they jumped in they swam up to the beach and were being so romantic and none of us realized that a bus with a ton of tourists had stopped by and had come over to us. I looked up and started to laugh, “hey guys, you have a bit of a paparazzi…. is that okay?”With Great Appreciation:
