I was back home in Kent and I went shopping with my mum and sister. My sisters old colleague had recently opened her own wedding dress store in remembrance of her daughter who loved to play dress up and sadly passed away a few years prior. It’s is a lovely store in just half hour drive from our house called “molly dollys” mollydollygowns.co.uk . Sally opened the store especially for us and dedicated her morning helping me find the perfect dress. I tried 2 different dresses on, both of which my my mum and sister chose and then I chose the third. As soon as sally had helped me step into the gown I had a special feeling. I knew this was the one. Even though it was 3 sizes to big the way my family and sally looked at my wearing the dress was indescribable. I glanced in the mirror and couldn’t believe how beautiful the dress looked.

I was nervous about things going wrong. All the regular things women worry about, like tripping, spilling food down my dress, Zak forgetting to give the best man the rings, it raining. But as soon as I got into the wedding car I forgot about all those little things and thats when it hit me that I am Getting married, this is it! And I had no worries for the rest of the evening.

I would highly recommend using flower del for your flowers and the very talented Rebecca Davidson. She really has a true art of making you feel at ease and comfortable when taking photographs.

It was fabulous, I felt so many different emotions in one day and the moment we said I do I could feel my heart beat almost pop out of my chest. The whole day was an out of this world experience to have your friends and family share such a special moment with you and to have it all captured on camera is something truly special.

We both met when we were traveling in Australia. I was just finishing traveling along the east coast of Australia when I came across Port Douglas. It’s a small fishing village just north of cairns. I was travelling alone and my plan was to stay there for a few days then leave for Aryres Rock. However I fell in love with port Douglas and made some great friends at the hostel I was staying at that I decided to stay. A few weeks had passed and I had just finished my shift in the bar downstairs When i went to the communal kitchen and noticed ‘a newbie’ to the hostel. I went over and introduced myself. His name was Zak. He arrived that day and was also travelling alone. (Also extremely attractive) He had previously made some good friends in another part of Australia a few months earlier who had told him to come to port Douglas and visit them. We instantly made a connection and enjoyed spending time together as a big port Douglas family gradullay growing more fond of each other as the summer passed. It was only a month later that my visa came to an end and I had to leave Australia. I packed up my things and carried on my journey travelling around south east Asia (a little lost without Zak). We kept in touch and carried on the romance from afar. About a month or so later Zak suprised me and flew into Bangkok to meet me and we continued exploring Asia together as a couple then decided to move to cayman and start our next adventure.

I was extremely nervous but in a ‘I can’t believe I’m getting married way’. Zak was also clean shaven (I had never seen him without a beard, until the day before the wedding) so as soon as I saw him I felt like laughing. The nerves had turned into happiness and excitement.

The best moments for me was walking down the aisle, to see how proud my dad was and to have my forever waiting at the end of the aisle smiling was an extremely special feeling. I felt like I glided down the aisle not concentrating on anything apart from getting to him. Our first dance was also an amazing moment. We were both calm happy and in our own little bubble.

It was my birthday and we went out for a lovely meal and had a lovely staycation here on island. When we returned back to the hotel room he had a playlist playing full of our songs the remind each other and our travelling days. candles filled the room and he gave the most romantic speech I have ever heard. He went down on one knee and asked me that special question. Soon after I stopped crying and my smile beaming from ear to ear there happened to be fireworks over the ocean. It was a perfect moment.

If i could have I would highly recommend hiring Rebecca for the full day. We had hired Rebecca for 4 hours and the photographs she took were amazing! She was able to work with everyone in getting candid shots as well as shots that I had seen done before and poses which she had created, she really spends all of her time dedicated to making you happy and getting those stunning shots. We are extremely happy with the outcome and every single photo but if we had another wedding I would hire her the whole day to capture those moments of us getting ready, reading speeches and dancing etc.

I just let Rebecca do her thing. Many of my friends have hired Rebecca for all different occasions and I have trust in what she does and decided to go with the look and shot she felt at the time. I do think maybe i should have directed my bridal party a little better to make it easier on Rebecca.

Our first dance was to Ben Howard “only love” this is a song that me and Zak both heard together and instantly loved. And my song with my dad was “my girl” by temptations. When growing up we had it playing at home all the time and reminds me of my dad singing it around the living room.

Fabulous. The whole day went super smoothly, Rebecca has a special talent to make you feel at ease and comfortable when she is taking photos. We both had a fabulous time working with Rebecca. Our meeting prior to our big day were extremely helpful and she is extremely create and helped us come up with ideas for shooting the bridal party and our trash the dress session.

No we did not, we both wanted to keep it traditional and keep seeing each other until I walked down the aisle. I am glad we did as the feeling when I first saw Zak about to walk down the aisle was indescribable. We also decided to have an hour photo shoot a few days after we were married instead of a “first look” that way we were able to included a few photos of our family who came to visit and got to have fun photos.

Confetti.co.uk – was very helpful. Lots of little accessories if you want to make things yourself.
