About the bride and groom….
We are both from small towns in Wisconsin about an hour apart from each other. Fun fact, we now live in the small town I grew up in and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

The Dress
We only went to one store to find my dress. It was my mom, my sister-in-law, and Daniel’s mom who went with me. I was pretty set on one design. When I had tried on that original design, I liked it and it was one of my top options. Then I put on my gown. It had all of the same attributes I adored in the original gown, but more! It had a long train which I fell in love with. After trying on my dress and retrying it on again later in the day, I knew it was the one as I didn’t want to take the dress off! The dress was perfect, elegant, and had every feature I wanted! Lucky me to find it at the first store we went!

Decor
Our wedding planner was Natasha from Celebrations and the Celebrations crew did our decors and florals. They absolutely killed it! The set up was exactly how I pictured and the floral spiral on the arch they created was a stunning masterpiece! I couldn’t have asked for a better set up! And everyone was so kind and communicative it made the process so easy and painless!

How did you both meet
Funny story, my mom was our matchmaker! She had noticed Daniel at her work as he recently began a new job opportunity and worked in the same building as her. She told me to “reach out to him, he doesn’t know you exist.” So, I did! And the rest was history!

How did Daniel pop the question
Daniel was smart when he popped the question because he knew to do it when I least expected it (since I hate surprises and usually catch on to any surprise before it happens). He had originally planned to take me on a weekend trip for my birthday (as if that isn’t an obvious time to pop the question). But, he surprised everyone, including my parents who knew the original plan, and asked me after my college graduation. I was opening a few gifts in my living room after a long day of graduation and dinner. As a last and final gift, he got on one knee and presented a ring. It was so thoughtful, intimate, and the perfect timing! (I was in full makeup, hair done, nails done, dress on… he’s a smart guy to do it at that time!!)

First Look
Daniel and I did a first look. This was one of the best parts of our day and so special as we got time alone and I was finally able to be with the person who provides me the most comfort! And yes- he did cry;) and he looked so handsome! It was an amazing feeling! I wish I could relive it over and over!

The Venue
We chose to get married at the Coral Stone for various reasons. Daniel and I always dreamed of having a beach wedding (both of us had this dream before ever discussing it with each other). The Coral Stone (and the Cayman Islands in general) has always held a place in my heart as I would frequently travel here and stay at the Coral Stone as my grandparents used to live on the island and we would come visit. I got to bring Daniel to the Cayman Islands a year before our wedding and he fell in love with the island. The private, stunning beach at the Coral Stone made for the perfect location for our intimate celebration!

The Aisle
Initially, I was really nervous for the wedding and walking down the aisle, but once I was able to see my best friend waiting for me at the end and eventually have him next to me, all of the nerves and anxiety disappeared. It was the best feeling to be marrying my soulmate on the most stunning beach with the people we love the most. I am truly so blessed!

The Kiss
Our first kiss was special for me in a unique way. Daniel and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for our first date. We talked for a long time and after the meal, I went to his truck to say goodbye and he handed me flowers! This was shocking to me as I have not been given flowers on a first date before! This showed me how thoughtful of a guy Daniel is and justified the smooch on the first date, ha! By the way, Daniel still continues to always buy me flowers and chocolates (the kind gestures have never stopped!)

Photos
We had such a blast taking photos! Rebecca made me feel so calm and she is so creative and professional. The most fun part for us was doing the creative, unique shots in the water! We tried something different and it was so fun! We can’t wait to see how they turned out!

Experience
Overall, our wedding experience as a whole was relatively unique as we did not have traditional bridal parties or a huge reception. We just wanted a small, intimate celebration with our closest family. And honestly, I would recommend this to any future bride! The day was just about us and what we wanted; not about what our guests wanted or satisfying other people and their opinions! The morning of our wedding was peaceful and slow and we were able to enjoy a calm walk on the beach as a couple. It was like a dream!

Any Axiety
I was anxious about everything! And I mean everything! I am very “type A” and wanted everything to be perfect and how I envisioned. Honestly, I should have never worried as every detail turned out perfectly! All of my vendors were incredibly kind and helpful! Everyone eased my anxiety and I couldn’t be more grateful! The wedding was perfect! Nothing went wrong!

Cayman Kind
Overall, we had a wedding that most people dream of! We are truly blessed and I cannot recommend more each vendor that was mentioned in this blog. Each one of them exceeded my expectations and brought a level of kindness and hospitality that you want as a bride! I know I was reading blogs when planning my destination wedding to get ideas of vendors and inspiration. So, if a future bride is reading this, I hope you are influenced to choose the Cayman Islands as your destination and get the opportunity to work with such amazing people.
