Diane + Chris | Tiki Beach Wedding

March 4, 2013

I just love these guys!  And I have to take the time to tell you their story because it is just awesome!!

Chris and Diane have known each other since grade school. They both had major crushes on each other throughout the years, and even back in high school where they were in the “Ski Club” together.  However they ended up going their separate ways for years…  But! As fate would have it – those relationships ended… and Chris and Diane had a chance to reconnect when both were single on good old facebook. 🙂 (Don’t you just love facebook??) Diane came to visit the beautiful Cayman Islands and truly fell head over heels for this amazing man!  Diane says “I was so lucky he was “available” and I told EVERYONE – I will NEVER let him go.  Diamond in the rough is an understatement. Everyday I feel like the luckiest woman on earth. Serendipity I guess :)”  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

Ok…back to their big day day!  Chris and Diane tied the knot at Tiki Beach – and what an emotional ceremony it was!!  There were tears everywhere (yes…including my own!).  The vows were just gorgeous and these two are just absolutely madly in love!  After the ceremony the bride and groom and their guests got right down to business and had an absolute blast dancing the night away!  Check out that cake topper – too cute!

I met up with these guys a couple of months after the wedding for a Trash the Dress shoot and man did we have fun!  We had to wait a couple of months because Chris had to finish physio from an knee injury.  Now that the knee injury is all sorted –  we jumped on their super-sexy wake board boat…and I mean this boat is awesome!!  It’s totally kitted out for a good time (check out Wakeboard Cayman!)  We had Diane on the tube first…and Chris managed to get up on his wake board straight from the tube…so he was wake boarding essentially bone-dry!!  Too funny!  Chris actually jumped straight over Diane while she was on the tube (WOW! Brave woman! 🙂 ) but she was just dying to get out there on her board too so we reeled in the tube and up she went on her wake board for some more awesome action shots. A HUGE thank you to Derek for driving the boat and helping out…he and his beautiful bride-to-be Michelle are getting married this April!!  Can’t wait!

Chris and Diane would like to thank their family and friends as well: “We both can’t say enough about you guys. You all mean the world to us and we are who we are today because of you. To have you join us on our “special day” after all these years of knowing each other and our pasts meant so so much. The support and love from you is like none other – and for that we know we are truly blessed and grateful beyond words. Thank you all for making such a huge effort of coming down to Cayman.  We know it wasn’t easy for many and we greatly appreciate it.”

With Great Appreciation:
Makeup: Jo from The Salon (Diane: Jo is a true artist and her beauty alone penetrates into every motion of her “brushes”.  She just made me feel beautiful from her smiles as she did my makeup!)

Hair: “Ultimate Sassy” Sandy at The Salon (Diane: “I can NOT stop recommending her to people here!  I know all women will understand when you find a hairdresser that you can call “the one” is like hitting the lottery. She is fantastic with colors, highlighting, trendy cuts – just everything!!)  Diane would also like to say a big THANK YOU to the fabulous Ms Susan Wilson – owner of The Salon who made sure the girls were well taken care of with champagne/mimosas while they were getting ready for the big day!

Grooms Hair & Makeup: Chris would like to note that he did his own hair and makeup 😉 (See – don’t you just love these guys?!)

Wedding Venue: Tiki Beach

Wedding Day Decor & Details: a message from Diane: “All my visions came to life because of one Ms.Frances Douglas who was the head designer at Parfait – she is BRILLIANT! Our wedding would NEVER have been the same without her.  Not only did she make everything by hand, she even did all the alterations on my dress!  Without being asked, she made a special tribute to my father with a single rose representing the love from him…those things you can’t even begin to thank someone for… she is so talented and special as a person anyone would be lucky to have her be apart of their special day.”

Photographer: Rebecca Davidsonwww.rebeccadavidson.com (Diane: “Her work is above and beyond, and not sure she could ever get enough recognition or praise for her talents. She is not only one of the most amazing people I have ever met – her character and attitude alone, and the love for what she does is contagious – with her positive beaming personality that you can’t get enough of, but her talent of photography of capturing moments that literally seem like they are coming from the individuals heart is crazy! Her photos capture the beauty of nature whether its the the sun, trees, ocean, flowers, other people around or an object and she somehow creates LOVE that makes it look like the couple are the ones creating all that beauty!”)
