The Dress
I got my dress in Grace Loves Lace. I actually saw it in a magazine and I loved it straight away. It was only 10 minutes from where I live so I went to try it on. I waited a few weeks and went around and tried on loads but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My mam lives in Ireland so I got her on the video call to see it and she gave me the green light. Her opinion is very important to me! I loved every bit of it and
The Groom’s outfit
Marc choose his suit. He has claimed he has better style than me because he told me not to wear converse with gym gear . The suits came from Diffneys in Dublin Ireland. They are in business since 1949. They guys really know their stuff and are great to deal with!!
Cute Story
We always say we are like Peter Pan and Wendy we are never growing up!!! We love to have fun and love an adventure! Laughter is a huge part of our life I can 100% say he makes me laugh every day! Early in our relationship I had a hard day at work and he grabbed me by the feet and shook me upside down to shake the bad mood out of me I will never forget that!! I love our laughs and it helps I think he’s a hunk!!
Unique story about your wedding
Our original wedding date was in May 2020 but unfortunately covid hit and we had to postpone. June 2022 was our third wedding date and as they say “3rd time lucky” and it was worth every second of the wait! When we booked the 30th June we realised it was the same wedding date as two of our best friends Gill and Dave who are now married 5 years. The two lads now have no excuse to forget the anniversary!!!
How did you meet
We met at our friends Kate and Barry’s leaving party! I was sent over 3 drinks “from Marc” but I never got to speak to him or say thanks that night. I messaged him on Facebook to thank him the next day and that was my worst mistake! He now tells everyone we met because I stalked him on Facebook!!haha
How did Marc pop the question
It was in on my birthday in 2018 in Cottesloe in Australia. We were on our way to lunch with our friends and on the way, Marc said he was going to check the postbox to see if there was post from home. He arrived over to me with a stack of birthday cards and handed one to me to open. I opened a card from my nephews Cillian and Tadgh who I adore (They were our page boys)
There was a photograph of them in superman suits with a message from them saying they think Marc is Superman and will I marry him. I hadn’t a clue and went into shock. I kept asking had he asked my dad, he told me my dad never rang him back so he text him and said “Im asking Cat to marry me and by the time you wake up in Ireland it will be done” haha This all happened along the beach which was beautiful and then when we arrived to lunch I had a ring on my finger and we got to celebrate straight away with our pals on the beach it was perfect!
Any unique items at your wedding
Our gorgeous Jeweler Ash Forde at Rossendorffs in Australia surprised us with a blue diamond on the inside of my wedding band as my something blue as a tradition for our day!! She is an Irish lady, she is so fun and so kind and has now become a friend. When we went to collect our wedding rings she said she had a little surprise for me. She showed us the inside of the ring with the beautiful blue diamond, the stone represents loyalty, fertility and my something blue for walking up the aisle. Nobody else can see it as it’s on the inside of my ring, this was extremely special and meant so much.
Who made your flowers
Deseos Flowers Marbella, Karen is an expert and has the most beautiful selection. We had a mix of white garden roses, white playa Blanca roses, white lisianthus, mixed with with eucalyptus they were incredible!
How did you feel just before you walked down the aisle
I got a little nervous walking down the aisle, my dad actually told me to slow down with my walk! I didnt expect it but I got little chocked up saying my vows, after so many delays it just made the day even more special and I suppose a little more emotional that we finally made it!
Favourite moment from wedding
Honestly having our friends and family with us in Spain, we never stopped laughing. I loved the car journey with my dad as we drove through the beautiful streets of old town Marbella, it felt like I was in a dream. I had thought about this moment for a long time!
How would you describe your overall wedding experience
Beyond what we could have ever imagined! I feel like we get to keep a little bit of magic with us from the day forever. The people, the venue, the music we couldn’t have asked for more! Scott and his team at Sunshine Weddings are incredible at what they do. We couldn’t have done it without them!! I just need to convince Marc now to do a vow renewal haha
Any advise to others planning a destination wedding
Go for it!!! It was beyond what we could have dreamt of! Scott, Zoe, Maria and the team at Sunshine Weddings go above and beyond! You can trust them 100% and they make the process so easy! They are extremely professional and we will be forever grateful for all their help over the last couple of years!
Any photography advise
Make a list of the key photographs that you would like as it makes it easier for everyone involved,we were advised to make a list of 15 which seemd alot but its not when you actually put pen to paper. Really research your photographer and read reviews. Find your style! Rebecca Davidson and Noah were recommened to us by Sunshine Weddings who we trusted. We got a list to research andthe miute we saw Rebeccas work we knew she was the wman for the job!
How was taking pictures with your bridal party
Our friends are very important to us so it was lovely all being together and having a laugh! Rebecca and a Noah made everyone feel very relaxed and made the photos so fun!!
How was working with me on your wedding day
Marc is a typical guy and he was dreading the photos!! He had already warned me that we needed to keep the pictures short and sweet! Boy did his opinion change on the day! I can’t stress enough how much fun we had with Rebecca and Noah! What a team they are!! They are the most gorgeous mother and son combo who make you feel so at ease!! I don’t think our day would have been as much fun without them!!
Marc went from dreading the pictures to raving about the laugh we had! Our family and friends all commented on how great they were, the best thing was they seem to genuinely love what they do and have fun! They become part of the party! The enjoyment oozes out of them which is infectious! Our time with them both was one of my and Marcs favorite parts of the day. They are super talented and have the most fun-loving personalities to go with it!!
What were you most nervous about
We just wanted our friends and family to have a good time after travelling so far, once we saw them enjoying themselves it made us happy! It’s never a place that makes an event it’s the people you have there!!

How did you choose your venue
The minute we walked in to la Cabane we were blown away. We wanted a beach club vibe, Sunshine Weddings brought us to approx 7 venues but it was the one.!! Our parents were with us viewing the venues and when we walked into LaCabane my dad said sure there is no need to see more, I’m not sure if it was because he loved it or he wanted to go for a pint because it was the first venue we had walked into haha.

How did you find your wedding planner
We were given some options from Sunshine Weddings and Rebeccas pictures stood out to us. She has a really cool modern vibe with a nod to tradition! Her beach pictures are incredible!! I also read her reviews which left me with no doubt!
What was your first dance
Our first song was Lykke Li I follow Rivers remix. We picked this as it came out the same time that we met and it was always on the radio when we were going on our dates! A slow song to dance to wouldn’t be me and marc we would just laugh so alit for us perfect! It also got the dance floor going straight away!
DJ
Steve Altman, I knew when I spoke to Steve we had the right man for the job. He previously had a residency at Ocean beach in Ibiza. Steve cares about the crowd and he reads the dance floor. He was incredibly engaging with everyone and had everyone on the dance floor all night!
