Linsey and Colby – Grand Cayman Beach Suites

November 1, 2013

Colby and Linsey decided to have their wedding at the fabulous Grand Cayman Beach Suites, the reason they chose this hotel was because it had a small feel, with only 51 rooms, they were guaranteed to run into family and friends in the lobby, by the pool, and at the beach, which made the whole wedding more of an extended celebration rather than just a one day event. Marina, the incredible planner made everything so easy and the wedding was perfect. The weather was incredible and the reception on the rooftop was amazing as the sun set the guests arrived for a fabulous dinner and some crazy dancing! I left the couple dancing the night away and met up with them a couple of days later as they trashed the dress. Linsey is a Cross Fit trainer and incredible athlete so when she wanted to back flip off the cove I was amazed…. See below 🙂 Congratulations Colby and Linsey for letting me be part of your day!

Here’s their story….

“Our story starts with a bit of irony on match.com (yes, another success story…we’re still hoping to star in a commercial).  Here’s the quick and dirty…

Colby was trolling match.com and found Linsey’s profile.  His email to her was as follows:

In your profile you have written:

“Spelling and grammar (to an extent) are some of my biggest pet peeves (i. e. if you send me an e-mail, please spell check!); I love sending people cards and letters; I love photography and want to invest in a digital SLR, but no nothing about it”
You require a spelling and grammar check from us guys, but you “no nothing about” digital SLR cameras sentences later. haha. I’m sorry… I’m a little bit of a grammar Nazi myself. Don’t hate me!
Hope you have a great night…
-Colby

If that doesn’t make you want to go out on a date with someone, I don’t know what does.  Hook.  Line. And sinker.

After a few more email exchanges, we went on our first date at Vapiano, a neighborhood restaurant/bar that was nothing spectacular.  Linsey got there early to scope out the scene and watched Colby walk in. While he looked handsome (read: chubby) in his profile pictures, she was pleasantly surprised (read: relieved) that he looked even better in person.  After a few glasses of wine, some stories about crazy people, and a couple handfuls of gummy bears, they went their separate ways with plans to meet again.
Their second date was at a neighborhood Mexican restaurant.  Linsey learned that Colby’s first name is Michael.  Colby saw Linsey walk to the bathroom, got a look at her bottom half finally, and learned that she wasn’t a centaur.  All was well in the world, and they planned to meet again.
Date number three marked their first kiss and the rest is history.  From then on, Linsey and Colby were inseparable.
Since those days on match.com, the future Mr. and Mrs. Wise have had some incredible memories – being snowed-in in Ballston, skiing in Snowmass, two-stepping in Texas, hiking in Shenandoah, relaxing in St. Lucia, wine tasting in Virginia, snorkeling in Turks and Caicos, living in sin together in Arlington, picking out a puppy in Pennslyvania – and they’re looking forward to many more memories to come!”
