The Dress
My wedding gown was chosen because it was so soft and flowing. It had the beachy feel without being overly formal but was still elegant with sparkle!!! Everyone knows how much I love sparkle and bling!!! Lauren, Melanie and Cheri were with me to pick it out. Given the hot , humid July weather I actually had a reception dress from Lulus that was much lighter. Of course, I had it altered to add the rhinestone belt…the extra glam!!!! My shoes were a gift from my friends Chad & Ross. (who also purchased me another wedding gown, but it was a bit to warm for that one). Love them.
Decor
Soft gold chiffon table runners covered in local palms and flowers. Glass & Gold chargers with personalized glitter gold personalized name place settings and lots of votive candles.
Cute Story
This is a tough one for us. Our stories are more crazy and silly than cute. I do like the New Years Eve we dressed up as Jesus and I was his angel. By the end of the night, Mike took his beard and turned it into a bad toupee. My angel costume was a onsie zip up. So mike ended up looking like a drunk Donald Trump and I was his sidekick. What makes it funny was us stopping at a rest stop on the highway . Before going into the convenience mart we stopped for a quick make out session in front of the store. Donald Trump making out with a little angel in pajamas at 1 am on New Years Eve… super cute site .
The Grooms Outfit
Mike chose his own tuxedo after months of debating over the color and material. He was super concerned about the heat. He found a personal designer who created a tuxedo special order just for him! Mike designed the entire ensemble himself…. he has such an eye for style. Post-ceremony he quickly changed into cooler casual beach attire, but still stunning. Those muscles!!!!!

Unique story about your wedding
It was our first destination wedding experience as was it many of our guests. Due to Covid-19, many of our friends hadn’t traveled internationally in over 2 years. We were able to combine all of our favorite Cayman experiences into our short time there so everyone could see how amazing the island/country is. Our 3 day event involved a beachside welcome reception complete with a live steel drum musician, a private catamaran cruise where the guests were able to swim with the sting rays, something many thought they were too scared to do yet did it anyway and loved it!! Concluded by the formal wedding ceremony and fun reception. Most guests stayed an extra few days to soak up the sun and adventure around the island.
How did you meet
Mike and I met on Match in 2016. There couldn’t have been a more perfect mate for me! It did take 3 dates for me to be hooked however and 3 tries before Mike was all in! All our friends know our love story. Mike was a bit unsure given I had 2 young children, but once he decided he was in he became the best “Mike” to those boys I could ever had imagined. We are all blessed to have found one another.
How did Mike pop the question
Mike rented a boat off the coast of Cape Cod. We cruised out to Monomoy Island, a completely deserted island. We were the only two on this pristine Cape Beach (except for a few seals). While walking on the sand he dropped to his knee and proposed, with tears and all. xoxoxo

How did you feel just before you walked down the aisle
I wanted to run to him but at the same time go as slow as possible so I could soak in every second.
Favourite moment of the wedding
Having my boys walk me down the aisle, then holding hands with Mike saying our vows.
Overall wedding experience
Magical. The Westin Staff and Brianna from Celebrations when above and beyond. They treated us like royalty. Unfortunately, we lost one of our best friends to cancer 6 days before the wedding. He was with us in spirit. Natasha (wedding coordinator) was aware and had a beautiful welcome gift and letter waiting for us upon check in. She was so compassionate. I tried my best to put it out of my mind because he would have wanted that for us on our day. Mike and I are looking for ways to recapture the joy that was slightly muted due to this loss. ?Vow renewal next year, Viewing party in full attire this fall at home….who knows but we will recapture that moment. This being said, ALL of our guests have told us this was THE BEST wedding they had ever attended.

How did you pick your venue
We wanted to have a beachside ceremony at the most beautiful beach we have ever been to. The Westin had the perfect package.
How was your team
We have amazing friends. Chad, Ross, and Lauren worked with Brianna and Natasha making sure all the decor was exactly how I imagined. Due to Covid, there was an international flower shortage and so we had no idea what to expect. What I originally had opted for quickly priced out of our budget. Brianna hand picked all the pink and white flowers for our tables from the island herself!!!! It was gorgeous!

Mike is Jewish, I am not. So I was a little caught off guard as his friends lifted us up on chairs for the Hora dance. Maybe on our recreation we will break the glass!!

Advice for other couples heading to Cayman for their destination wedding
Have someone else plan it for you! hahahaha. I was so busy making sure everyone was happy and having a good time it was hard to truly experience it… We truly felt our best moments were those when we had time one on one with our friends and family.
